Bridging English Literature & Croatian Fluency: Why Language Teaching is My Passion
I’m Tihana Klepač, an Associate Professor of English Literature at the University of Zagreb. For over 20 years, I’ve trained students to dissect complex language patterns in poetry and prose—skills I now use to help learners master Croatian intuitively. But my true expertise goes beyond the classroom. As a native Croatian raised on folk tales, historical texts, and even Istrian balun dancing, I understand how language lives in stories, songs, and everyday speech. That’s why I don’t just teach Croatian—I teach how to
feel it.
In this workshop, I combine my linguistics training with decades of observing how students truly learn languages.
